Kaboom, Kaboom
As we get closer to 4th of July, I thought we would discuss something we all associate with this holiday: fireworks displays. I have this Springfield News-Leader article what goes into these events, and I found it pretty interesting. One thing thet hit on is how these shows are choreographed. For example, let's take James River Assembly's "I Love America" celebration. According to the aforementioned article, Kert Parsley, JRA's administration director, records the music to be used on a CD, then A.M. Pyrotechnics, who provides the fireworks for the event, takes the CD and matches it up with whatever fireworks they're using, and then they take it from there. Now, if A.M. Pyrotechnics sounds familiar to you, then you know they provide the fireworks for the display at Hammons Field after Friday night Springfield Cardinals games, as well as the Red, White, and Boom celebration here in my hometown of Mt. Vernon, MO.
