Don't Let It DE-FEET You

As I'm sure you know by now, provided you've been watching the news, there has been a ride accident at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, just outside of Louisville, Kentucky. The accident involving their Superman Tower of Power ride. A cable snapped and caused a 13-year-old girl to get her feet cut off. Shortly after that, Six Flags shut down similar rides at their other parks, as did another amusement park company, and with every justification, in my opinion. This got me thinking that it's time for federal inspection of amusement ride. There is already state inspectons in place, and the "RIDE ACCIDENT" link above has an interactive feature on that. I wonder what's going to become of this accident.

"X" Marks The Spot

Before I start off, I need to tell you why I have been away from posting over the past several months, well, I have been going through a rough patch with my family. Most of the trouble was caused by an ice storm which caused scenes like this around my house:

With that out of the way, let's get to my post. It has to do with the NBC reality show "America's Got Talent". I'm getting concerned about Piers Morgan, who is one of the judges on "AGT". What has Piers been thinking? One of my coworkers says that Piers Morgan is "10 times worse than Simon Cowell". It appears that Piers is "X"'ing almost every act that comes out to audition for later competition. For those of you who don't know what this "X" thing is about, well, let me explain:Each judge has a red "X" that he/she activates if, at any time, they believe that your act sucks. Refer to the example below:In this example, Judge "A" doesn't like your act, so he has put up his "X". In order to continue in the competition, you must complete your act before all 3 judges activate their red "X".

The above example is what you don't want to see. If all 3 judges activate their red "X" before you finish, then you ARE finished...you're out of contention for the $1 million that awaits the winner.
