When you believe that you wrongly got fired from whatever job you had at the time, then you may file a complaint, or may actually sue your former employer, as was the case I'm talking about right here. Deborah Curling, an employee with the CBS game show "The Price Is Right" (I also have the official "TPIR" site for you, click right here for it) has sued CBS and former "TPIR" host Bob Barker over wrongful termination. Curling was originally fired after she testified in a co-workers wrongful termination case. Well, last Friday (9/18/09), the judge threw out this case, accoring to CBS News. Curling's attorney, Nick Alden, is vowing to appeal the ruling, and well he should. Nobody should be fired for testifying on behalf of a fellow employee. I wonder if the current "TPIR" host, Drew Carey, is following this so that he'll know what to do in a situation like this.

A Very Soapy Post
I'm sure that many of you may have, at one time or another, seen a carnival, circus, or amusement park depicted on television in some form. Well, let me fill you in on what is supposed to be on TV this week (9/14-18/09). On the ABC daytime soap opera "General Hospital" this week, a carnival comes to Port Charles, and Jax and Carly are in the fortune teller's booth. Meanwhile, Sonny doesn't like Dominic's babysitting of Morgan, and after that, Edward's car plows through the fair, taking out rides and booths. Dominic, as well as Carly, Jax, and Sonny, are also taken out, and if I'm not mistaken, one of them dies. One more thing... a cable channel called SOAPnet carries a rerun of each day's episode of "GH" (many soap opera magazines refer to "General Hospital" as "GH") during prime time. I wonder what's going to happen next.

Way to Go, CRASH!
If you've been to Walt Disney World, as my aunt Linda as her kids did a few weeks ago, then chances are that you're familiar with the monorail system that transports visitors between the 6 theme/water parks that make up WDW, those being the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Blizzard Beach, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Typhoon Lagoon. Well, over this past 4th of July weekend, there was an accident invloving that monorail system. RideAccidents.com, along with the Orlando Sentinel, is reporting that two trains on that monorail collided, killing the operator of one of those trains. The Sentinel's story about the accident also has the 911 call about the wreck, along with some pictures of Disney World's monorail. I also have this YouTube video of the accident right here for you to see.
Accidents are nothing new to Disney's theme parks. The aforementioned RideAccidents.com has a special section concerning accidents at WDW's sister park, Disneyland, over in California. Given this, I wonder is something is going to come out of this accident.

I Think I Missed Again
Some of you are probably familiar with the Phil Collins 1981 hit "Missed Again". Well, that song could apply to what has been going on with the bonus rounds on "Wheel Of Fortune" over the past 2 weeks. In the bonus round, there are 24 possible prizes to win. You spin a small wheel labeled with "AMERICA'S GAME, SPIN & WIN". Each letter contains a prize card, and the letter you land on is what you're playing for. This is the prize card you're shooting for:
This is the prize card that you want to draw--that is, provided you're not in the $1 million situation I talked about in an earlier post. Winning the $100K will get you admiration from many viewers...and a colorful confetti shower. Well, over the past 2 weeks, three contestants have pulled this card, only to miss the bonus puzzle. This is not good, folks. We can do better than this when we have a $100K possibility staring us in the face. Another tip: Pay attention to the puzzle board, then choose your 3 consonants and one vowel (after the R,S,T,L,N, and E that they give you to start) carefully.

We're Taking A Dive
There are some folks that probably don't know this unless you're from around here, but my hometown of Mount Vernon, Missouri is a haven for skydiving activity. We have two skydiving companies that operate out of a small airport just outside of Mount Vernon, and they are Freefall Express and Skydive Missouri. Well, I really don't need to tell you this, but obviously, skydiving carries some risks. We found out the hard way this past weekend. According to the local weekly newspaper here in Mount Vernon, that being the Lawrence County Record, a skydiver by the nome of Larry Miller was killed when his parachute failed to open up. And this accident is just the tip of the iceberg. In April of this past year (I typed this on New Year's Eve 2008), an airplane being used for skydiving crashed just north of the Mt. Vernon airport, killing two people; and there have been three other skydiving accidents there since 1996. All these accidents have been connected with the aforementioned Freefall Express. My mom believes that somebody at Freefall Express need to supervise how they pack the skydivers' parachutes, and I agree with her...provided, of course, that Freefall Express doesn't get shut down by the FAA over this mess like they really ought to be. And besides, who wants to jump out of a perfectly good airplane in the first place?

A Tale of Two Millionaires
Well, folks, these two events had to happen sooner or later. If you have been watching the hit NBC game show, which of course is "Deal or No Deal", then you know that they have been on a "Million Dollar Mission". They are increasing the probability of a contestant winning $1 million by adding some "$1,000,000" cases into the mix. According to my observations, apparently this is working. Two "DOND" players have become millionaires. First came Jessica Robinson, a 27-year-old stay-at-home mom from Sandy, Utah. Back on 9/1/08, she became DOND's first $1 million winner. She got down to two cases, her #4 and case #26. Jessica's case, #4, had the $1M. Then, last night (10/29/08), Tomorrow Rodriguez from Maple Shade, New Jersey stepped up to the plate. She gets down to 4 cases, her #7, #8, #15, and #20. One case has $300, the other three have $1 million. Tomorrow calls #15, and it's $300, which means...TOMORROW'S A MILLIONAIRE TONIGHT! And if there is one thing these two events have in common, it's that both events provided us with lots...and I mean LOTS...of colorful confetti falling down all over the place. I have provided you with YouTube clips of the first millionaire and the second millionaire right here for you to view as needed, and I will have comments on these clips on there ASAP. This only goes to show you that if you play it right, you could walk off the "DOND" set a millionaire.

I Feel Like A Million Bucks
Well, folks, it had to happen sooner or later. If you have seen the promos, then you know that "Wheel Of Fortune" is giving players a chance to win $1 MILLION in the bonus round. The trick, however, is getting there. Let me explain it to you. First, you must land on a special space on the wheel that says "ONE MILLION", then guess a letter in the puzzle to pick up the space. My illustration of both sides of the $1 million space is right here:
Once you have the space, the idea is to hold on to it the entire game without running into a BANKRUPT space on the wheel, then to get to the bonus round. If you do, then the $100K card is replaced with a "ONE MILLION DOLLARS" card like this:
Sure, the task looks tough...or so we thought until this past Tuesday evening (October 14,2008). Michelle Loewenstein, who is a newlywed and floral designer who lives in Santa Monica, California, did all the above, got to the bonus round, and solved the Bonus Round puzzle "LEAKY FAUCET". We open up the card and...ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!! WHEEE! IT'S CONFETTI TIME!! If you want to view this, I have this YouTube clip of it right here for you.
Who will be next to take "Wheel" for a cool million?
